The station said that Lyons was born in Philadelphia but moved to Florida when he was young. He went to school at the University of Central Florida, and he started working at the station in July 2022. On the website for the news station, Lyon’s biography says that he also worked for WCJB TV20 in Gainesville, which is an ABC affiliate.
Dylan’s biography page says that in 2020, the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists gave him the best “Politics/Elections Series” award, and in 2021, he was a finalist for Investigative Reporting.

Keith Melvin Moses, who is 19 years old, has been arrested in Florida because he is thought to have been involved in two shootings that day. Spectrum 13 said that a news photographer named Jesse Walden and the child’s mother were also hurt in the shootings.
The station said that Lyons was shot and killed while they were talking about another shooting. Police say they think the same shooter, who is thought to be Moses, went back to the scene of an earlier shooting and shot at the news crew while they were in or near their car.
