The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has set up a new Police outfit to take over from the dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigerian Police Force.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, in Abuja.

According to report, the prospective members of the new outfit (dissolved SARS operatives) will undergo tactical training next week and also a psychological and medical examination to ascertain their fitness and eligibility for the new assignment. Hahaha I dey laf.?

What Is SWAT?

SWAT (special weapons and tactics) team, is an American law enforcement unit which uses specialized or military equipment and tactics. It was created in the 1960s to handle riot control or violent confrontations with criminals.

The fact that the Inspector General of Police chooses the name “SWAT”, shows lack of creativity and how clueless he is, especially if we do not have weapons that are special and lack tactics as the name suggest. The Nigerian government under President Buhari keep embarrassing us internationally with excessive plagiarisms. Anyways, that’s by the way.

SWAT teams are increasingly equipped with military-type hardware and trained to deploy against threats of terrorism, for crowd control, hostage taking, and in situations beyond the capabilities of ordinary law enforcement.

SWAT units are often equipped with automatic and specialized firearms, including submachine guns, assault rifles, riot shotguns, sniper rifles, riot guns, riot control agents, tear gas, smoke, and stun grenades. In addition, they may use specialized equipment including heavy body armor, ballistic shields, entry tools, armored vehicles, thermal and night vision devices, and motion detectors for covertly determining the positions of hostages or hostage takers, inside enclosed structures.

Can the uneducated dissolved and redeployed criminals in police uniform called SARS men handle this job? Of course not, that can’t do that.

Mr IGP with due respect Sir, the fact that an incompetent officer like you is heading the Nigeria Police Force is pathetic already. To open your mouth Waaaaa spewing tr*sh is disheartening. Why are you in a hurry to form another police unit instead of reforming police and increase their salaries.

You cannot dissolve Sars and form SWAT with same officers. The #EndSARS movement by Nigerian youth is about the individuals. They should be all sacked! Even if they’re to be redeployed to SWAT, it shouldn’t be this fast!

What the freaky hell is SWAT! Some people called it S-sars W-with A-another T-tittle. It sounds funny, but that’s what it is!

The prospective members of the new outfit are supposed to undergo a special trainings from the originators of SWAT police(The Americans). Not weeks but months training.

Essential Questions To The IGP:

1: Are the required forearms for the job available within 48-72hrs of SARS dissolution?

2: Who are the prospective members of the new outfit SWAT? The dissolved SARS operatives or new recruits?

3: How much is gonna be their monthly salaries? Hope they will be well paid to avoid seeing them on the streets searching iPhone 12, harassing, killing, and extorting innocent citizens?

4: What are the orientations to be given to the prospective members of the new outfit SWAT? The codes of conduct, etc.

5: Hope the Nigeria version of SWAT won’t be different from that of other countries?

6: Hope they’ll always be in their uniforms, with ID card and won’t look dirty, unkept like soaked vultures?

7: Hope they won’t be turned to private bodyguards and tools for illegal operations, arrest, intimation and oppression?

Many questions to ask. And until the above questions and that of millions of Nigerians are answered, I standby fellow citizens to Say No To the new police unit “SWAT”.
